Zoo Animals

The swarm of bees

scorns me with its stingers

plunging in and out of my flesh

slowly but surely injecting its poison into me.

The eyes of hawks that burn

holes through my skin

all the way to the bone

never stop watching over me

never stop gawking at me.

The mouths of howler monkeys

never are shut always screeching and howling

about the way they see me

and whether they agree with me or not

with whom I am by my appearance and interest.

The parasites of the wild

are always trying to feed

their fill or even more than their fill off of me.

Biting and sucking the life out of me

as if my meaning in life was to be fed off of.
