Beach House Barbecue

by Larry Blazak

You arrive before daybreak
In your old camper
You park and sleep in the drive
The beach house is on the end
Of a shallow inlet between industrial wharfs
And recreational cottages
A silver boat is beached on the inlet
Dave says that you cannot have a boat ride
The boat will not go in reverse
A man on a bicycle arrives with hamburgers
To cook on the grill

You follow him out back
